A-List uses personal information we collect to provide the Services, personalize content, remember information to help you efficiently access your account, analyze how the Services are used, diagnose service or technical problems, maintain security, monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns, and track user Content and users as necessary to comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and other applicable laws.
There are many occasions when you provide information that may enable us to identify you personally (Personally Identifiable Information) while using the Services, such as when you sign up for an account, provide us with access to your profiles on third party sites, or enter your academic or professional experience when creating a prospective employee profile. Personally Identifiable Information may include your email address, name, phone number, birthday, age, address and your educational or professional history.
We may use your email address to send you Services-related notices, including any notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail. You can control receipt of certain Services-related messages on your A-List settings page. We may also use your contact information to send you marketing messages. If you do not want to receive such messages, you may opt out by following the instructions in the message. (Please note it may take up to one week to process any opt-out requests.) If you correspond with us by email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address and our responses.
You also provide us information in Content you post to or share through the Services. A Candidate’s profile is made visible to all Employers using the Site, unless an Employer is blocked by the Candidate (which happens if the Candidate identified the Employer as a current or past employer, or if the candidate manually chose to block them). Messages sent through the Services between an Employer and Candidate are not viewable except by the relevant Employer and Candidate.
If you choose to use our invitation service to invite a contact to the Services, we will ask you for that person’s email address and automatically send an email invitation. A-List stores this information to send this email, to register your contact if your invitation is accepted, and to track the success of our invitation service.
Cookies: When you visit the Services, we may send one or more “cookies“ – small data files – to your computer to uniquely identify your browser and let A-List help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through the Site. A cookie may convey anonymous information about how you browse the Services to us, but does not collect personal information about you. A persistent cookie remains on your computer after you close your browser so that it can be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Service. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser’s directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to notify you when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of the Service may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled.
Log Files: Log file information is automatically reported by your browser each time you access a web page. When you use the Services, our servers automatically record certain information your web browser sends whenever you visit any website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, referring / exit pages and URLs, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information.
Clear GIFs Information: When you use the Services, we may employ clear GIFs (also known as web beacons or tracking pixels) to anonymously track online usage patterns. No Personally Identifiable Information from your A-List account is collected using these clear GIFs. In addition, we may also use clear GIFs in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened by recipients. The information collected is used to enable more accurate reporting and make A-List better for our users.
Third Party Services: A-List may use third party service providers such as Google Analytics or Mixpanel to help understand use of the Services. Google Analytics and Mixpanel collect the information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, including cookies and your IP address. Google Analytics and Mixpanel also receive this information and their use of it is governed by their respective privacy policies.
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or is needed to provide you the Services and may retain Data after you discontinue use of the Services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements.
Other Users. A Candidate’s profile is made visible to all Employers using the Site, unless an Employer is blocked by the Candidate (which happens if the Candidate identified the Employer as a current or past employer, or if the candidate manually chose to block them). Messages sent through the Services between an Employer and Candidate are not viewable except by the relevant Employer and Candidate.
Business Transfers. As we develop our business, we may buy or sell businesses or assets. In the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event, Personally Identifiable Information may be part of the transferred assets.
Your Consent. We may share or disclose your information with your consent, such as if you choose to sign on to the Services through a third-party service. We cannot control such third parties’ use of your information.
Legal Compliance. A-List may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect A-List’s rights or property.
We may share non-personally identifiable information (such as anonymous usage data, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, number of clicks, etc.) with interested third parties to help them and ourselves understand the usage patterns for certain A-List services.
A-List uses industry-standard physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your personal information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to A-List or guarantee that your information on the Services or Site may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by a breach of any of our physical, managerial, or technical safeguards.
You may, of course, decline to submit Personally Identifiable Information through the Services, in which case A-List may not be able to provide certain services to you. In addition, you may update or correct your account information and email preferences at any time by logging in to your account. If you would like us to remove your Personally Identifiable Information from our database, please send a request to email@example.com.
We are not responsible for revising or removing your Personally Identifiable Information obtained by any third party through the Services or Site or any third party to whom you have provided such information (whether by sharing your login and password, or otherwise).
If you are a non-U.S. user of the Site or Services, by visiting the Site or using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that any data you provide (including Personally Identifiable Information) may be processed, collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with this policy.
We may share your personal information with business partners, sub-contractors and suppliers which provide services to us in order for us to fulfill our obligations to you. Personal information that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA").
It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers, business partners or sub-contractors. Such staff maybe engaged in the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services.
